2008!
2007 passed by in such a flash , I can hardly beleive I am writing a page for "08 already!
2007 was not a great year for me, having tempted fate and had a christmas dinner on the 25th 2006 I ended up suffering for most of 2007 with blockages and pain, nervous sweats on the loo and so on. I tempted fate and paid the piper for that dinner, so needless to say none was eaten this christmas, or last should I say, just a bowl of the usual baby mush which was actually a few days after christmas as beleive it or not myself and 4 of the children had sickness, I used to think turkeys went hand in hand with christmas now for me it is vomit, ah well such is life.
I must say though my eldest gave me a pure moment of puff my chest out proudness, she said (after we had all recovered) "poor mummy, I know you have been very ill over the years but you have never been ill at christmas before."
You have to read the book to catch my drift on that comment but for those of you who have read it , (your my favourites), tears came to my eyes, as my little ones have not a clue, which is what my husband and I strived for throughout our ordeal.
For anyone who has just learnt that they or a family member, friend , relative has bowel cancer, take a deep breath re-group and then get as much information as you can. Search the websites, ask the doctors and nurses , BUY MY BOOK!, a very important one that last one and you will see you are not alone and this thing can be overcome, maybe not beaten, as I indeed one a battle but not a war, some scars will never heal.
But I am still here to hark on about them and hopefully bring hope to others and precious funds by way of the book to Lynn's Bowel cancer campaign
and the Royal Marsden to help them both in there efforts to fight and help stop this viscious debilitating disease.
Do remember you are not alone, and always remember always look forward and never ever back, save that for when you have gotten through and then sit back and think with pure pride, I DID IT!.
Kindest regards to all, and many thanks to all who have bought the book, hope it helped,
Taryn x
