Feeling low at times if not all the time is an absolute given, it goes with the territory I'm afraid, although I hope you find an inner resilience to this as I did.
Expect those around you to become frustrated at not being able to take some of the load off this from you. It is sometimes much harder for those around you as they have to watch the ones they love suffer.
At times there may be nothing you can do to help you relax and unwind, just try not to get frustrated. I had terrible trouble sleeping, at one point I thought that I would never sleep again! But with all things it just took time, and then sleep returned.
Trying to adjust to life can be different as everything takes on new meanings and the pecking order of worry certainly changes, in our case the hole we had in the roof seemed somewhat laughable after finding out I had cancer, and at the end of the day it was something we could fix, not something we had to fight.
After all is said and done though, things are definitely brighter after getting through, I enjoy life much more, and take NOTHING for granted, I'm just very very thankful for every day that I am here.
